Tile and Grout Cleaning Services in Australia

You scrub the shower, it looks good for a fortnight, then the grout goes dark again. Grout is porous cement, and a mop moves dirt out of one line and straight into the next. We clean bathrooms, kitchens, laundries and outdoor tiles in seven regions.

We machine scrub under pressure and extract what lifts, so nothing gets pushed back into the pores. You get before and after photos of every area we treat. From $29 per square metre including GST, and our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work.

  • Rotary machine scrub, not a mop and a spray
  • Tile and stone type checked before we start

Why does mopping never fix dirty grout?

Grout is cement, and cement is porous. Tiles sit above the surface while the grout line sits below it, so every spill, every mop bucket and every shower runs into the lowest point and soaks in.

A mop then drags that water across the floor and feeds the next line. Household cleaners lift what is on top and leave what has already absorbed.

Machine scrubbing plus extraction is the difference. We work solution into the pores under pressure, then pull it back out along with everything it has loosened.

Outdoor tiles, driveways and pool surrounds are a different machine and a different job. See pressure washing. For black growth in silicone and on ceilings, see mould cleaning.

Which rooms get the most out of this?

Three areas account for nearly every booking.

Showers and bathrooms

Soap, minerals and moisture in the same place every day. The hardest working grout in the house.

Kitchen and laundry floors

Grease travels further than people think. Splashback grout and floor lines both take it.

Entry and outdoor tiles

Grit, sand and weathering. Often the first thing a visitor or a buyer sees.

Which surfaces do our machines handle?

Checked before we start, because the wrong method on the wrong stone is expensive.

Floor tiles

  • Ceramic and porcelain
  • Slate and travertine
  • Terracotta and quarry
  • Mosaic and feature inserts
  • Skirting tiles and step nosings

Wet areas

  • Shower bases and walls
  • Grout lines scrubbed individually
  • Corners and floor wastes
  • Splashbacks and vanity surrounds
  • Soap and mineral build-up

The parts people miss

  • Under the shower screen track
  • Behind the toilet base
  • Grout under appliance edges
  • Tile-to-bath silicone joins
  • Thresholds between rooms

Checked before we start

  • Tile or natural stone
  • Whether it has been sealed
  • Cracked or missing grout
  • Loose or drummy tiles
  • Existing staining photographed

Natural stone needs pH-neutral products and lower pressure. Acid on marble or limestone etches it permanently, and no clean will bring that back.

How do we get grime back out of a porous surface?

Four steps, and the extraction is the one that matters.

Contact us
  1. Step 01

    Identify the surface

Tile or stone, sealed or raw, and a test patch in a corner first.

  2. Step 02

    Dwell time

Solution goes on and is left to work. Rushing this is why DIY attempts fail.

  3. Step 03

    Scrub and extract

Rotary machine through the lines, then high pressure rinse with immediate vacuum recovery.

  4. Step 04

    Report and sign-off

Photos of every area, and we walk you through the result before we leave.

Why does your water supply change how grout ages?

Hardness is the amount of dissolved calcium and magnesium in tap water, and it varies from city to city.

  • Perth and Adelaide. Harder water in many suburbs. Mineral scale sticks to soap film and sets into the grout
  • Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart. Softer water, so the build-up is mostly soap and body oil rather than mineral
  • Brisbane. Humidity keeps wet areas damp long enough for growth to take hold in the lines first
  • Darwin. The wet season keeps bathroom grout damp for months at a time

That is why a supermarket shower spray can work in one house and do nothing in another. Most are made for soap scum, not mineral scale.

Why not just hire a machine and do it yourself?

Four reasons the hire shop route usually ends with a call to us anyway.

We extract instead of spreading

A hire machine scrubs, but most have no recovery. The dirty solution sits on the floor and drains straight back into the lines it just came out of.

Our units scrub and vacuum in the same pass at the same moment. What comes out of the grout leaves in our recovery tank, not back in the lines.

Grout cleaning built for hard water suburbs

Where the water is hard, the deposit on your tiles is mineral scale stuck to soap film. Supermarket sprays target the soap and leave the scale behind.

We match the chemistry to what is actually on your tiles. That is the difference between a result that holds and another wasted Saturday with a scrubbing brush.

Sealing after the clean, never instead of it

A sealer applied over dirty grout locks the staining in permanently, so sealing is the finish, not the fix.

We clean first, confirm the grout is back to its own colour, then seal so the next build-up takes far longer to appear. Sealing is quoted separately and only offered where it will actually do something for you.

A photo report on every job

Grout results are hard to judge on a wet floor, and most people only look properly once it has dried.

You get before and after shots of each area we treated, plus any cracked grout or drummy tiles we found underneath. Problems are reported to you in writing rather than cleaned over.

Grout that will not come clean is usually grout that was sealed while it was dirty, or scrubbed by a machine with nowhere to put the water.

What sits behind work on your floors?

Tile and stone are expensive to get wrong. Here is what backs the job.

Surface tested first

Stone or tile, sealed or raw, patch tested.

Machines and products supplied

We bring the equipment the job needs.

pH-neutral on stone

No acid on marble, limestone or travertine.

Defects reported

Cracked grout and drummy tiles flagged.

Happy before we leave

Our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work.

What do tile and grout customers notice first?

What does tile and grout cleaning cost in Australia?

Priced by area. Measure the floor and you can work it out before you call.

Scope NSW VIC QLD WA SA TAS NT
Tile and grout cleaning Per square metre $38 $36 $33 $34 $30 $29 $38
Bathroom floor From $230 $220 $205 $210 $195 $189 $230
Kitchen tiled floor From $275 $260 $245 $250 $230 $225 $275

Doing several areas together is cheaper. Setting the machine up and running hoses takes the same time for one bathroom or a whole floor, so booking the wet areas in one visit costs less than separate call-outs.

Sealing is quoted separately after the clean, because it is not worth doing until we can see the surface properly.

What else is worth doing while the machine is out?

The gear is already on site, so these cost less booked together.

What do people ask about tile and grout cleaning?

Why does my grout go dark again so quickly after I clean it?

Because household cleaning lifts what is sitting on top and leaves what has already soaked in. Grout is porous cement, so the staining below the surface wicks back up. Machine scrubbing with extraction pulls it out of the pores instead of rinsing the top.

Can you make my grout white again?

We restore it to its own original colour, which is often lighter than people expect but rarely brilliant white. If the grout was grey or beige when it was laid, that is what comes back. Colour sealing can change the shade afterwards, and that is a separate job we quote on inspection.

Do you seal the grout afterwards?

Yes, if you want it, and only after the clean, never instead of it. Sealing over dirty grout traps the staining underneath permanently. Once the surface is back to colour, a sealer slows the next build-up.

Will this damage my tiles or natural stone?

Not if the surface is identified first. Marble, limestone and travertine are acid-sensitive and etch permanently, so those get pH-neutral products and lower pressure. We test a hidden corner before starting and tell you if a surface is not suitable.

How long before we can walk on the floor?

Usually two to four hours, and sooner in a well-ventilated room. Extraction removes most of the water on the spot, so floors are damp rather than wet when we leave. Wait until fully dry before putting mats or rugs back down.

How long does a bathroom take?

A standard bathroom floor and shower runs around two to three hours. Heavily scaled grout can need a second pass, and we confirm the scope and price on arrival, before we start.

What else in the wet areas needs attention?

Most customers book more than one. Same crews, same standards, one invoice.
