Why does a Darwin house take longer than a southern one?

What is really on Darwin glass?

White marks are usually not scale

Darwin town water is soft, so the white marks on city glass are usually salt or residue rather than mineral scale. Rural blocks on bore water are the exception, where harder water can leave spots.

Can you clean glass behind a cyclone screen?

Yes, and it is a normal part of the job here. Darwin homes often have fixed debris screens over the windows.

Those screens mount on a frame, so the mesh sits proud of the glass with a gap behind it. That gap is where the outside face of the glass gets forgotten.

Flyscreens are included, taken out where they lift out, washed and put back. Track detail is priced separately at a guide rate of $15 per window, because a wet season track is a scrape and scrub job rather than a wipe. You are told which windows need it before we start.

Do you clean louvre windows?

Yes, blade by blade, both faces, with the channels done as well. Louvres are priced on the blade count rather than counted as one window, since a single gallery can hold a dozen or more blades.

Can you clean the glass behind cyclone and security screens?

Yes. Cyclone debris screens mount on a frame so the mesh stands off the glass, leaving a gap that is easy to miss. We tell you on the quote how each screened window will be done.

What happens if it rains, and does rain undo the clean?

We reschedule if it is raining when we arrive, at no cost. Rain on already clean glass is mostly fine, because clean glass has nothing for it to wash down. Rain landing on dusty glass is what leaves the streaks people blame on the cleaner.

How long will they stay clean in Darwin?
