What does NDIS cleaning in Brisbane cover?

Household tasks in a participant's home, plus cleaning contracts for disability facilities and SDA housing. Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas, at the frequency your plan funds.

Under the NDIS, house cleaning sits in Core Supports as Assistance with Daily Life, under household tasks. It has to be reasonable and necessary, which means it relates to the disability rather than being a convenience.

We do not do personal care. Cleaning is a household task, and support work is a different service with different qualifications.

For a private home with no NDIS funding involved, see house cleaning in Brisbane.

Is your plan agency managed, plan managed or self managed?

This is the question that decides who you can use.

Agency managed

The NDIA pays providers directly, and only providers registered with the NDIS Commission can be used.

Plan managed

A plan manager handles the invoicing, and you can choose providers whether or not they are registered.

Self managed

You pay and claim back yourself, and you can engage the provider you choose.

If your plan is plan managed or self managed, the questions that matter are how the visit is run, what is in the agreement and who you can call.

How is the arrangement set up?

Slowly, and with the participant in the room.

Contact us
  1. Step 01

    We check the plan first

Management type, funded hours and what the plan allows, before anyone talks about a schedule.

  2. Step 02

    Walkthrough at the participant's pace

What matters, what is off limits and where things live, plus any sensory or access needs.

  3. Step 03

    Service agreement in writing

Tasks, frequency, cancellation terms and the rate.

  4. Step 04

    Notes kept on the job

What you told us at the walkthrough goes with every visit, and you hear about any change of cleaner beforehand.

What is covered on every visit?

Four areas. The last one matters more here than in most homes.

Kitchen

  • Benches and splashback
  • Cooktop and rangehood face
  • Inside the microwave
  • Fridge exterior and handles
  • Bins emptied and relined

Bathroom and laundry

  • Shower, screen and grout
  • Grab rails and shower chair
  • Toilet, basin and mirror
  • Floors washed and dried
  • Washing on or out, if agreed

Living and bedrooms

  • Floors vacuumed and mopped
  • Clear paths kept clear
  • Ceiling fans and vents
  • Switches, handles and remotes
  • Bed changed on request

Damp and airflow

  • Bathroom checked for mould
  • Wardrobes and back walls
  • Air conditioner vents wiped
  • Rooms aired while we work
  • Anything found is reported

Nothing gets moved or thrown out without asking. Where things sit is often the system that makes a home work, and a tidied bench can cost someone their morning.

What paperwork can we provide for facilities?

Ask and we send it before you sign anything.

Work health and safety

  • Safety Data Sheets for every chemical
  • Site specific risk assessment
  • Incident reporting process

The agreement

  • Written scope by area
  • Frequency against every task
  • Cancellation terms

If your organisation has its own requirements for workers entering a participant's home or facility, send them with your enquiry and we will tell you plainly whether we meet them.

Why does a Brisbane home need the damp watched?

Brisbane summers are humid, and mould starts on surfaces that stay damp.

  • Nobody checks the wardrobe back wall if reaching it is the reason we are there in the first place
  • Air conditioning keeps rooms closed, and a closed room in humid weather does not dry out
  • Bathrooms hold moisture longest, and grab rails and shower chairs sit in the wettest part of the room
  • Storm season brings damp in, and a home that cannot be aired easily holds it

So damp gets its own line in the scope. We look, we report what we find, and we tell you when it has gone past cleaning.

What should you ask before choosing an NDIS cleaner?

Four things worth asking before you commit.

Is the provider registered, and does your plan need it?

Registration is with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. It is a requirement if your plan is agency managed, and optional otherwise.

Does your plan include household tasks?

Cleaning needs household task funding in Core Supports. Check your plan or ask your plan manager before you book.

What happens when the usual cleaner is away?

Ask how a change of cleaner is handled, and whether you will hear about it beforehand.

What checks do the cleaners hold?

Ask any provider which checks their workers hold for the work you need, and ask to see the evidence rather than taking a website at its word.

What do Brisbane customers say about us?

How is NDIS cleaning priced in Brisbane?

Homes and facilities are quoted, not priced off a rate card. Here is what shapes the quote.

Funded hours

What your plan funds for household tasks, and how often.

The home or facility

Size, layout, bathrooms and any access needs.

Tasks

What is in the agreement, and what is left as you have it.

The NDIA publishes price limits for supports each year, and our quote is set out so you or your plan manager can check it against them. If your funded hours will not cover what you have asked for, we say so before the service agreement rather than after.

Request a walkthrough

What periodic services can be added?

Quoted separately, and only where the plan funds them.

Which Brisbane areas do we cover for NDIS cleaning?

Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Ipswich. Participant homes, SDA housing and disability facilities. Several homes to arrange? Request a walkthrough and we will scope them together.

Inner city and northside

  • Brisbane CBD
  • Fortitude Valley
  • New Farm
  • Newstead
  • Stafford Heights
  • Chermside
  • Ashgrove
  • Nundah
  • Aspley

Character Queenslanders and post-war lowsets sit side by side here, requiring different cleaning approaches on the same street.

Southside and east

  • West End
  • Woolloongabba
  • Coorparoo
  • Camp Hill
  • Carindale
  • Mount Gravatt
  • Sunnybank
  • Wynnum

Older timber homes through the inner south and modern brick builds further out. Bond cleaning bookings peak in this area at the end of every month.

Western suburbs and outer

  • Toowong
  • Indooroopilly
  • Kenmore
  • The Gap
  • Redcliffe
  • Logan
  • Ipswich
  • Springfield

Larger blocks with substantial outdoor entertaining areas and tree cover, where timber deck pressure washing is frequently booked alongside house cleans.

What do Brisbane participants and plan managers ask?

Can I use you if my plan is agency managed?

Agency managed plans can only use providers registered with the NDIS Commission. Tell us how your plan is managed when you enquire and we will tell you straight whether we can take the booking.

Is there such a thing as an NDIS approved cleaner?

Not as a formal status. What exists is registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, which matters for agency managed plans and is optional for the rest.

Will I get the same cleaner every time?

We aim to keep the same cleaner on your home, and the notes from your walkthrough go with every visit. If your usual cleaner is away, you hear about it beforehand rather than at the door.

How does NDIS funding cover cleaning?

House cleaning sits in Core Supports under Assistance with Daily Life, as a household task. It has to be reasonable and necessary, and your plan needs household task funding in it.

Do you do personal care as well?

No. Cleaning is a household task and personal care is a different support with different qualifications.

Will you move or tidy my things?

Not without asking first. We clean around what you have set up unless you tell us otherwise.

Can you invoice my plan manager?

Yes, for plan managed participants. For self managed participants we invoice you directly so you can claim.

Do you clean disability facilities as well as homes?

Yes. SDA housing, group homes and day programs are scoped like any commercial contract, with a written scope and frequencies, and visits between 6am and 10pm.

We stay until it's right

Our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work. For end of lease cleans, if you're not satisfied and tell us within 72 hours, we come back and re-clean.

Would you like a walkthrough in Brisbane?

Tell us how the plan is managed and roughly what hours are funded. That is enough for us to tell you where you stand.
