Tile & Grout Cleaning in Brisbane

Tile and Grout Cleaning Services in Brisbane

Grout soaks up whatever it sits in. That is why tile and grout cleaning in Brisbane has to finish with sealing, or the dark lines come back.

Sealing is in our price. A bathroom floor starts at $205 including GST and bigger areas run $33 a square metre, with shower walls quoted apart because they are done by hand.

  • Cleaned, then sealed, so it lasts
  • Silicone checked separately and honestly
  • Fixed price by room or by square metre

What does tile and grout cleaning involve?

Grout lines scrubbed and extracted rather than wiped over. Then the tiles, then the seal.

Sealing is the part many quotes leave out. Grout is porous, so without it Brisbane humidity goes straight back in.

Silicone is a different thing. If the join between the wall and the floor has gone black inside, cleaning will not touch it. It needs cutting out and replacing, and we will say so.

Outdoor tiles and pool surrounds are a separate job. See pressure cleaning in Brisbane for those.

Is it the grout, the silicone or the ventilation?

Three different problems that all look the same from the door.

Grout

Porous and stained through. This one cleans up properly and stays clean once it is sealed. Most jobs are this.

Silicone

Black spots under the surface of the bead. Nothing removes that, so it gets cut out and replaced, which is a different trade.

Ventilation

If the fan is weak or vents into the roof, the room never dries. Cleaning buys you months, not years, and we will tell you.

What does tile and grout cleaning cover?

Four stages, and the last one is why it holds.

Inspect

  • Grout type and condition
  • Tile surface identified
  • Silicone checked separately
  • Existing damage photographed
  • Realistic result explained

Treat

  • Solution applied to the lines
  • Dwell time, not a quick pass
  • Shower grout done by hand
  • Floor stains treated
  • Edges and corners worked

Extract

  • Rinse and vacuum
  • Dirty water taken out, not spread
  • Tiles rinsed clear
  • Grout lines dried down
  • Floor left walkable

Seal

  • Sealer applied once dry
  • Penetrating sealer, not a topcoat
  • Applied line by line
  • Excess wiped off the tiles
  • Cure time explained

Sealing has to go onto dry grout, so on a wet week it may need a second short visit. We would rather come back than seal moisture into the line.

How does a grout job run?

A bathroom is a few hours. The sealing decides the timing.

  1. Step 01

Send a photo of the worst line

That plus the room size is usually enough to price it and tell you what will lift.

  2. Step 02

    Treated and left to work

The solution needs dwell time, which is why a quick scrub with a brush never gets there.

  3. Step 03

    Extracted, not mopped

The dirty water comes out under vacuum rather than being pushed into the next line along.

  4. Step 04

    Sealed once it is dry

Sometimes the same day, sometimes a short second visit, then a real time before the shower goes back in use.

Why does a Brisbane grout clean end with sealing?

Grout is cement based and porous. It takes in whatever the air carries, and in Brisbane that is moisture for much of the year.

Brisbane summers are humid, and a bathroom used twice a day never fully dries in between.

  • Showers stay damp. The water leaves, the moisture does not
  • Old fans move little air. Some vent into the roof cavity instead of outside
  • Older bathrooms are small. One window, one fan, little airflow

Sealing closes the grout to all of it, which is why it is in the price here rather than offered at the end.

Why does clean grout go dark again?

Four things worth knowing before you book.

It was never sealed

Clean grout left open takes the next humid summer straight back into the line. A penetrating sealer closes the pores, which is what makes the clean hold.

Black silicone is not a grout problem

Grout stains on the surface and cleans up. Silicone grows the black underneath the bead, where no product reaches, so it needs cutting out and replacing.

Sometimes it is the exhaust fan

A bathroom with a small window and a tired fan never dries out between showers. Cleaning that room buys you months rather than years, and we would rather say so upfront.

Shower walls are a different job

Floors get machine work. Shower walls and the recess get done by hand, line by line, which is why a shower is quoted separately from a floor.

What do Brisbane customers ask about grout?

What will it cost for my bathroom?

A bathroom floor starts at $205 including GST and a kitchen floor at $245, both cleaned and sealed. Larger areas are $33 a square metre, and shower walls are quoted on top.

Do I really need the grout sealed?

In Brisbane, yes. Grout is porous and takes in moisture from the air, so cleaning without sealing leaves the line open and the staining returns sooner.

Why is my silicone black when the grout came clean?

Because the black is growing inside the bead rather than sitting on it. It needs cutting out and replacing, which is a different trade.

Can you make old grout look new again?

Usually close, and sometimes not. Grout discoloured by a previous sealer, or worn down to the sand, will not fully recover, and we say so before we start.

Why does it keep coming back?

Either the grout was never sealed, or the room does not dry out. A tired exhaust fan is common in older Brisbane homes, and no clean fixes that.

How long before I can use the shower?

Sealer needs to go onto dry grout and then cure, so we give you a real time on the day. On a wet week it may take a short second visit.

Is sealing the same as regrouting?

No. Sealing closes the pores in existing grout. Regrouting means raking the old grout out and replacing it, which is a tiling job we do not do; if yours is crumbling rather than stained, we will tell you.

What other cleaning do we do in Brisbane?

Most customers book more than one. Same crews, same standards, one invoice.
