What does NDIS cleaning pay for?

The worker's time. Cleaning sits in Core Supports under Assistance with Daily Life and is billed as a household task.

It does not pay for cleaning products or equipment, which count as ordinary household costs. We bring our own, so there is no shopping list for you and nothing extra on the invoice.

How your plan is managed matters. We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants, and your plan manager or support coordinator can confirm what your plan allows.

Cleaning has to relate to your disability to be funded, which your support coordinator or planner can help with. For work outside plan funding, see house cleaning or deep cleaning.

How often can you book NDIS cleaning?

Whatever your funding supports. Most households land on one of these.

Weekly or fortnightly

The common pattern. Same day each time, so the routine holds and nothing needs re-explaining.

Monthly or as funded

Where the plan supports less frequent visits, weighted toward the rooms that matter most.

Group homes and SIL

Shared areas cleaned early in the morning from 6am or in the evening until 10pm, around residents' routines.

How does a coordinator check the visit happened?

Participants often cannot supervise the work, and coordinators are rarely there.

Why do NDIS cleaning arrangements break down?

Four things that decide whether a participant keeps a provider or starts again.

A familiar face

For participants who rely on routine, a new person every fortnight undoes much of the benefit. We keep the same cleaner on your visits wherever we can.

You are told who is coming before each visit, so nobody unexpected arrives at the door.

Invoices that match how your plan is managed

Plan-managed participants need the invoice sent to their plan manager. Self-managed participants need a tax invoice they can claim without it being knocked back.

We issue whichever your arrangement needs, with hours that match the visit record.

A service agreement before anyone starts

The agreement covers scope, frequency, cancellation terms and how to raise a complaint. You get a copy to keep before the first visit.

A written record a coordinator can use

Family may live elsewhere, and support coordinators are rarely on site during a visit. Every visit produces a room-by-room report with photos and attendance times that match the invoice.

Share it with family or a coordinator, or keep it for your next plan review.

Most participants do not leave a cleaner over standard of work. They leave because nobody told them who was coming.

What makes this work for a participant?

This is somebody's home, not a site. Here is what backs it.

Told who is coming

Before every visit, with an arrival window.

Equipment and products supplied

Not billed to your plan.

Low-odour products on request

Where sensitivity applies.

Nothing moved without asking

Aids, equipment and routines stay where they are.

Report every visit

Room by room, with photos.

A Shining Services cleaner working through a hotel corridor after hours

Happy with the work

Our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work.

What do our customers say about us?

How is NDIS cleaning quoted, and who pays?

Four steps, funding question first.

How your plan is managed

Self-managed or plan-managed. This decides how we invoice.

Home visit

Rooms, access, priorities, sensitivities and funded frequency.

Service agreement

Scope, frequency, rate and cancellation terms, in writing.

Service and invoicing

Regular visits with reports, invoiced the way your plan requires.

We quote after a home visit. The hourly rate and visit length are written into your service agreement, so your plan manager can check them against your plan before anything starts.

Products and equipment are supplied at no separate charge, so the invoice only covers time.

Book a home visit

What else can be arranged around the regular visit?

Quoted separately. Check against your plan before booking.

Mould cleaning

Bathroom ceilings and wardrobes, common in humid regions. Mould cleaning →

End of lease clean

When a participant moves between properties. End of lease →

Which regions do we cover for NDIS cleaning?

Participant homes, supported independent living and group homes, across seven regions. Not sure we reach you? Ask for a home visit and tell us the suburb.

What do participants and coordinators ask most often?

Does the NDIS pay for house cleaning?

It can, where it relates to your disability. Cleaning sits in Core Supports under Assistance with Daily Life and is billed as a household task. If it is not in your plan yet, raise it with your planner or Local Area Coordinator.

Does my plan pay for the cleaning products as well?

No. The NDIS funds the worker's time, not products or equipment. We bring our own and do not charge separately for them.

How do you invoice?

Plan-managed participants have the invoice sent straight to their plan manager. Self-managed participants get a tax invoice to claim themselves, with hours that match the visit report.

Will I get the same cleaner every visit?

We keep the same cleaner on your visits wherever we can, and you are told who is coming before each one. If someone new is coming, you know in advance.

Are your cleaners insured?

Yes. We carry $10 million public liability insurance, which covers the work our sub-contracted cleaners do in your home or facility.

When can visits happen?

Seven days, between 6am and 10pm. Group homes are usually cleaned early in the morning or in the evening, around residents' routines.

What if my plan does not have enough funding for what I need?

We work to the hours you have rather than running over them. We agree which rooms take priority and record that in the service agreement.

We stay until it's right

Our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work. For end of lease cleans, if you're not satisfied and tell us within 72 hours, we come back and re-clean.

Ready to set up a service agreement?

Tell us how your plan is managed and where you are. We will arrange a home visit, usually within a few days, with no obligation.
