Upholstery Steam Cleaning Services in Australia

Your sofa probably looks fine. That is why upholstery cleaning keeps getting put off, because the dirt sits below the surface where a vacuum never reaches. Body oils, food and pet hair get pressed deeper into the weave every time someone sits down.

We pull it back out in your home, piece by piece, and you see the water that comes out. Sofas, armchairs, dining chairs and modular lounges, in seven regions. From $35 including GST, with a before-and-after report on every piece, and our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work.

  • Hot water extraction, not a surface wipe
  • Fabric checked before any water touches it
  • Before and after photos of every piece

What does upholstery steam cleaning actually pull out of a sofa?

Body oils, sweat, pet hair, food residue and everyday grime. Most of it sits below the surface where a vacuum cannot reach.

We inject hot water and solution into the fabric, then extract it back out under vacuum. That lifts what has soaked in rather than pushing it deeper.

This is for fabric upholstery only. Leather needs conditioning rather than steam, because heat and moisture dry the hide and crack the finish. Book leather cleaning and conditioning for those pieces.

Mattresses use the same method but a different scope. See mattress steam cleaning.

How often should a lounge suite be steam cleaned?

Three patterns cover most households.

Every 12 months

A standard household with light use.

Every 6 months

Pets on the furniture, small children, or a humid coastal home.

One-off before an event

Before guests arrive, before a sale inspection, or after a spill you could not shift.

Which pieces of furniture do our crews handle?

Priced per piece, so you only pay for what you want done.

Sofas and modulars

  • Two, three and four seaters
  • Five and six seat modulars
  • L-shapes and corner units
  • Chaise sections
  • Cushions cleaned both sides

Chairs and ottomans

  • Armchairs and recliners
  • Dining and office chairs
  • Ottomans and footstools
  • Bedroom occasional chairs
  • Fabric bed heads

The parts people forget

  • Under and behind the cushions
  • Arm tops and headrest zones
  • Skirts and side panels
  • Seams where grime collects
  • Fabric bases underneath

Checked before we start

  • Manufacturer cleaning code
  • Colourfastness spot test
  • Suede and microfibre handling
  • Existing damage recorded
  • Foam condition under stains

Some fabrics are dry-clean only and cannot take water. We check the code first and tell you if a piece is not suitable.

What happens when the crew arrives at your door?

Four steps, and the first one protects your furniture.

Contact us
  1. Step 01

    We test the fabric

Cleaning code checked and a hidden patch spot tested before any water.

  2. Step 02

    Pre-treat and agitate

Stains and high-contact zones treated first so extraction can lift them.

  3. Step 03

    Inject and extract

Hot water in, dirty water out. We pull the moisture back rather than leaving it.

  4. Step 04

    Report and sign-off

Before and after shots per piece, and a walk-through before we leave.

Does where you live change how often a sofa needs cleaning?

Yes. Climate decides whether fabric stays damp, gathers dust or fades.

  • Sydney and Brisbane. Warm and humid for much of the year, so fabric holds moisture and body oils longer
  • Darwin. Wet season humidity keeps fabric damp, and lounges smell musty before they ever look dirty
  • Melbourne and Tasmania. Homes are shut up all winter with heating on and pets indoors, so grime builds on arm tops and headrests
  • Perth and Adelaide. Fine dust grinds into the weave, and sun through glass fades and dries the fibres

Where you live changes what is in your sofa, and how often it needs pulling out.

Why hand your lounge suite to our crews?

Four things that decide whether a steam clean helps or harms the furniture.

We lift what has soaked in

A vacuum takes the crumbs and hair from the surface. Body oil and spills soak into the fibres and padding underneath.

Hot water extraction flushes that out and pulls it back into the machine, so you can see the water that comes out.

Your couch is not left soaked

An over-wet sofa in a humid week will smell worse than before it was cleaned, because fabric that stays damp turns musty.

We extract hard and match the job to the weather that day. Most fabric sofas are dry within four to six hours, and you get that window before we start rather than after we leave.

Matched to the fabric, not the price list

Suede, microfibre and some woven blends react badly to water. A few pieces carry a dry-clean only code and should never be steamed at all, whatever a price list says.

We check the manufacturer code and spot test a hidden patch before anything starts. If a piece is not suitable we say so and leave it alone, rather than risk shrinking or watermarking furniture you cannot easily replace.

A photo report on every clean

Results are hard to judge while the fabric is still damp, and some customers book a clean for a rental or a parent's home they never see.

So you get before and after shots of every piece, along with whatever we found underneath the cushions. Existing wear is recorded before we start, so nothing gets argued about afterwards.

The fabric check matters more than the machine. Steam on the wrong upholstery costs more to fix than it ever cost to clean.

Booking several pieces is cheaper per item. The machine setup takes the same time whether we clean one chair or a full lounge suite, so a whole room done together costs less than the same pieces booked separately.

Heavy staining or urine that has reached the foam is quoted on inspection. We tell you before we start.

What else can we extract while the machine is set up?

The gear is already in your home, so these cost less booked together.

What do people ask about upholstery cleaning?

How long does a couch take to dry after steam cleaning?

Most fabric sofas are dry within four to six hours. Humidity decides it, so a Darwin lounge in the wet season takes longer than an Adelaide one in summer. We give you the drying window before we start.

Can you steam clean a leather couch?

No, and you should not let anyone try. Heat and moisture dry the hide and crack the finish, which is expensive to reverse. Leather needs cleaning and conditioning instead.

Will it remove pet smells and old stains?

Usually, though it depends how far things went. Surface pet odour and set-in spills lift well with hot water extraction, but urine that has soaked through to the foam is a different job. We tell you which one you have before we start, not after.

Do you take the furniture away?

No. Everything is cleaned in your home with our extraction machine. We just need clear access around each piece.

Is it cheaper to book several pieces at once?

Yes. Setting up the machine takes the same time whether we clean one dining chair or a full lounge suite. Booking a whole room together costs less per piece than booking the same items on separate visits.

What else in your home holds the same dirt?

Most customers book more than one. Same crews, same standards, one invoice.
