Shining Services vehicles and equipment ready for the day's jobs

The people on your site, accounted for

Screened before hire, inducted to your building, rostered by name, checked in on location, and paid from the same record your invoice is built on.

Vetting that is checked, not collected

Anyone can ask for a police check. The question is whether somebody verified it, recorded it, and stopped the roster when it lapsed.

Screened before hire

National police check, identity and right-to-work verification and reference checks with previous cleaning employers. Nobody is rostered on the strength of a résumé alone.

Documents verified, not collected

Every document is uploaded to its own slot and marked verified by a staff member before the application can be approved.

Expiry is tracked

Certificates, licences and checks carry expiry dates, so a lapsing document is chased before it lapses, not discovered during your audit.

Trained on the method

Chemical handling and dilution, colour-coded equipment, manual handling and incident reporting, all before a first solo visit.

Inducted to your site

Access and alarms, restricted areas, waste streams, the scope and the escalation contact. It is repeated per site, never assumed to carry over.

{# The photo fills the tile and the copy sits on a scrim at the foot of it. The old treatment faded the top of the image to white and set dark copy on that, which only worked while the text stayed inside the fade — a two-line body ran past it onto the picture. A bottom scrim is legible whatever the copy length or the photo behind it. #} A Shining Services crew preparing equipment before a job

Crews accounted for individually

A contractor's own team members are registered and screened by name. No unnamed extra hands, and nobody sublets your contract.

How a cleaner joins us

A structured application and a human decision at the end of it. Nobody reaches a client site on a phone call and a promise.

Join our team
  1. Stage 01

    Application

A structured application covering experience, services offered, coverage area, equipment, insurance and availability. It is a guided sequence, so nothing is left blank and unnoticed.

  2. Stage 02

    Documents and checks

Identity, police check, insurance certificate, ABN and any licences are uploaded against named slots. Each is reviewed and marked verified by our team, or sent back for more information.

  3. Stage 03

    Approval and induction

Approval is a decision a person makes on a complete file, and it is what switches on eligibility to be rostered at all. Method and safety induction follow before the first job.

  4. Stage 04

    Rostered and reviewed

First visits are supervised, early work is audited more closely, and eligibility can be switched off at any time. A lapsed document or a performance issue takes someone off the roster the same day.

What we hold for every person

Held against the person, kept current, and confirmable for the crew rostered to your site, usually the same business day. Personal documents stay with us; what you receive is confirmation that the check exists, is current and was verified.

Ask about your crew

Identity and eligibility

  • Photo identity document, verified against the person
  • National police check, confirmed before the first job
  • Right-to-work evidence: citizenship, residency or a visa with work rights
  • Working with Children Check where the site requires one

Cover and business

  • Public liability certificate in the contractor's own name
  • Expiry date recorded and chased before it lapses
  • ABN and business details for contractors
  • Licences and tickets for height, plant or equipment

Training and payment

  • Signed induction and training records
  • Site-specific induction for each building they attend
  • Attendance history against every visit worked
  • Banking details held against the person, never on a site file

How the roster is actually run

Vetting gets someone through the door once. These are the mechanisms that decide whether your site is cleaned well in month eleven.

Rostering that accounts for the drive

The largest cause of missed visits in this industry is not indifference. It is a roster written without regard to where people live and when they said they could work.

  • Rostered against declared availability and coverage area
  • A named team leader checks the party in and out
  • Check-in and check-out recorded from the site, with time and location
  • Late starts and short visits are visible to us before they are to you

The mechanisms that matter in month eleven

Vetting gets someone through the door once. Consistency, accountable records and planned cover are what decide whether your site is still cleaned well a year later.

  • The same crew wherever rostering allows, because familiarity is quality
  • Leave and illness covered by someone inducted to your site first
  • Audit results, rework and complaints attach to the crew that worked the visit
  • Incidents, near misses and breakages reported the day they happen

The cheapest quote in cleaning is cheap for a reason

It is usually cheap because somebody is not being paid properly, and that becomes your problem, through turnover, through failed audits, and increasingly through the accessorial liability provisions of the Fair Work Act. We would rather show you the arithmetic than win on a number that cannot hold.

  • Paid from the same record your invoice uses
  • Award and Fair Work obligations met
  • Contractors paid per the agreed rate
  • Travel and after-hours agreed up front

How our cleaners are paid

Because a cleaning contract that only works when someone is underpaid is a contract that fails, and it fails on your site.

  • Cleaners are paid against recorded hours, the same attendance record your invoice is built from
  • Pay rates are set to meet Fair Work and the Cleaning Services Award obligations that apply to the engagement
  • Contractors are engaged as contractors, with their own ABN and insurance, and paid per the agreed rate
  • Travel and unsociable-hours arrangements are agreed up front, not absorbed quietly by the cleaner
  • Payments are reconciled against approved visits, so a cleaner is never left chasing what they are owed
  • Underpayment risk is a client risk too: a contractor who underpays their crew is the contractor whose crew disappears mid-contract

What clients ask about our people

Are your cleaners employees or contractors?
Both, depending on the work and the area. Contractors hold their own ABN and public liability insurance and are onboarded through the same verification process as employees: police check, identity, right to work and induction. They appear on your site by name either way.
Are cleaners police checked?
Yes. A national police check is verified before a first job, and it is recorded against the person rather than self-declared. We can confirm the checks held for the crew rostered to your site on request.
Will we get the same cleaners each visit?
Wherever rostering allows. Consistency is the biggest single driver of quality on a site, so crews are kept stable deliberately. Cover for leave or illness is inducted to your site before their first visit.
How do you verify cleaners turned up and stayed?
Check-in and check-out are recorded from the site itself, with time and location stamped against the visit. Your invoice is built from those records, and cleaners are paid from the same ones.
What happens if a cleaner is sick?
Cover is arranged from cleaners already inducted to your site where possible. If a visit genuinely cannot be covered, you are told before the visit window, not after, and the visit is rescheduled or credited.
Can we ask for a cleaner to be replaced?
Yes, and no reason is required. We will ask what happened, because it is usually a training or scheduling issue we should fix, but the replacement does not wait on that conversation.
Do you subcontract our site to another company?
No. Work is performed by cleaners and contractors onboarded by us and visible to you by name. Contractors may bring their own registered team members, who are screened and recorded individually. Your contract is not resold to a third party.
Are your cleaners paid correctly?
Yes. Pay is calculated from the same recorded hours your invoice uses, at rates set to meet the Fair Work and Cleaning Services Award obligations for the engagement. It is also why our price is what it is.
