Event Cleaning in Melbourne

Event Cleaning Services in Melbourne

The function finishes, and the venue wants the room back by a set time. That gap is the whole job, and it is why the clean should be booked with the venue, not the week before.

We charge by the cleaner hour because nobody can price a crowd in advance. Pre-event is $80, post-event $90 and heavy recovery $105. Our crews work from 6am to 10pm, seven days, sized to your finish and handover times.

  • Crews from 6am to 10pm, seven days
  • Priced by cleaner hour, so you can do the maths
  • Glass and bottles sorted, not bagged together

What does event cleaning actually cover?

Three different jobs. A pre-event pass before guests arrive, the post-event clean once they leave, and heavy recovery when the night got away from everyone.

Most bookings are the middle one. Floors, tables, bar, amenities and waste, done between your finish time and the handover.

Glass and bottles get sorted. Bagging everything together is faster for us, but separated waste is easier for the venue to deal with, so we sort as we go.

Weddings, birthdays, corporate functions and hall hire. For a venue you run yourself see restaurant and cafe cleaning in Melbourne.

Which one do you actually need?

The rates differ because the work does.

Pre-event, $80

A venue reset before doors open. Floors, amenities and surfaces brought up after whatever was in the room yesterday.

Post-event, $90

The common booking. Straight after the event if it ends early enough, or first thing the next morning, with the space handed back in the condition your hire agreement asks for.

Heavy recovery, $105

Broken glass, serious spills, mud through a marquee or a floor that needs machine work. Confirmed when we know what happened.

All three are per cleaner hour including GST. Four cleaners for three hours is twelve cleaner hours, which is how the total gets worked out.

What gets done on a post-event clean?

The list a venue checks before signing the room back.

Floors and the room

  • Full sweep and mop
  • Spills lifted, not spread
  • Under tables and staging
  • Confetti, tape and decorations
  • Chairs and tables stacked

Bar and service

  • Bar tops and drip trays
  • Sinks, taps and splashbacks
  • Glassware cleared
  • Sticky floor behind the bar
  • Ice wells and bins

Kitchen and catering

  • Benches and prep surfaces
  • Sinks and dish area
  • Caterer waste bagged
  • Fridge and cool room wiped
  • Floors degreased

Waste, sorted

  • Glass and bottles separated
  • Cardboard flattened
  • Food waste bagged apart
  • Bins relined and returned

Amenities are part of every post-event booking. After a big function, the toilets are usually the first thing a venue manager checks.

How is a post-event clean timed?

Two numbers decide everything. Your finish time and the handover time.

Contact us
  1. Step 01

    We take both times

When the last guest leaves and when the venue wants the keys. That sets the crew size.

  2. Step 02

    Same evening if it fits

If the event wraps up early enough for the clean to finish by 10pm, we go in as the room is being cleared.

  3. Step 03

    Otherwise from 6am

A late finish gets a crew from 6am the next morning, sized so the room is done before the handover time.

  4. Step 04

    Photographed at handover

Room by room before we leave, so you have a record of the condition it was handed back in.

Why do Melbourne venues book out so fast?

The city runs on an event calendar, and it bunches into the same weeks every year.

  • Summer. The Australian Open in January and a run of major events after it keep function space busy and turned around daily
  • October to December. Spring racing, end of year functions and the wedding run
  • Council hall hire. Council halls often hold a cleaning bond and expect the space returned in its original state, which is where private bookings get caught
  • Outdoor and marquee. Melbourne weather turns fast. A dry afternoon and a wet evening means mud through a marquee and into whatever is next door

Peak weekends sell out weeks ahead. Book the clean when you book the venue, not when the invitations go out.

Why do venue bonds get withheld?

Three things worth knowing before you book.

The handover time is the deadline

Venues usually want the space back by a set time, and council halls often hold a cleaning bond against it. Tell us that time first, because it decides whether we clean the same evening or from 6am the next morning.

If the event runs too late for a same-evening clean, we size the morning crew so the room is done before handover.

Priced by cleaner hour for a reason

Two hundred guests can leave a room in very different states depending on the night. A fixed quote either overcharges you or runs out halfway.

Pre-event is $80 a cleaner hour, post-event $90 and heavy recovery $105. You see the maths and pick the crew size against your own handover time.

Peak weeks sell out before the invitations do

Spring racing and the end of year function run fall in the same weeks every year, and event cleaning crews book out with the venues. Lock in the clean when you lock in the venue.

What backs a crew in your venue?

You are trusting a crew with a venue and a deadline. Here is what sits behind it.

Crew sized to your window

More people when the gap is short.

Equipment and machines supplied

Including floor machines for heavy recovery.

Waste sorted

Glass, cardboard and food kept apart.

Photographed at handover

A record of the condition the room was left in.

Published hourly rates

Including GST, with the hours estimated before you book.

What do our customers say?

How much does event cleaning cost in Melbourne?

These published rates include GST and are charged per cleaner hour.

A cleaner hour is one person for one hour. Five cleaners for four hours is twenty cleaner hours, so a post-event clean at that size is $1,800. We estimate the hours from your guest numbers and your handover time before you book.

What do Melbourne event organisers ask us?

How much does event cleaning cost in Melbourne?

Pre-event is $80 a cleaner hour, post-event $90 and heavy recovery $105, all including GST. A cleaner hour is one person for one hour, so five cleaners for four hours is twenty cleaner hours. We estimate the hours from your guest numbers and handover time before you commit.

Why is it charged hourly when everything else is fixed?

Because nobody can price a crowd in advance. Two hundred guests can leave a room in very different states, and a fixed quote either overcharges you or runs out halfway.

Can you clean straight after the event finishes?

Yes, if the clean can be finished by 10pm. Our crews work from 6am to 10pm, seven days. An event that runs later gets a crew from 6am the next morning, sized so the room is ready before the venue's handover time. For a post-event emergency, such as a spill or a flooded floor, call our 24-hour emergency line on 0483 982 111.

How fast can you turn a venue around?

It depends on the crew size, which is the point of pricing by cleaner hour. A 180 guest hall usually needs four or five people for around four hours. Tell us your finish and handover times and we will tell you what it takes.

Will the venue return our hire bond?

We cannot promise that, because the venue decides it and we do not know your hire agreement. What we can do is hand the space back on time and photograph it room by room before we leave.

Do you sort glass and bottles?

Yes. Bagging everything together is faster for a cleaning crew, but separated waste is easier for the venue to dispose of. We separate glass, cardboard and food waste as we go.

What counts as heavy recovery?

Broken glass through a room, spills soaked into carpet, or a floor that needs machine work rather than a mop. It is $105 a cleaner hour because it takes different equipment and longer. We confirm the rate once we know what actually happened.

Do you cover festivals and outdoor events?

Yes, including marquees, sports clubs and council reserves. Weather can turn between the afternoon and the evening, so tell us the site and the ground conditions when you enquire.

We stay until it's right

Our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work. For end of lease cleans, if you're not satisfied and tell us within 72 hours, we come back and re-clean.
