Oven, Stove & Rangehood Cleaning in Melbourne

Oven, Stove and Rangehood Cleaning in Melbourne

The oven smokes before it even reaches temperature. That is last winter burning off, not tonight's dinner. Plenty of people book oven cleaning in Melbourne only once that starts, and by then the grease has baked hard.

A standard oven is $140 including GST. The stovetop is $59 and the rangehood $69, or $240 for all three. Racks and trays go into a non-caustic dip tank. We take the door apart to clean between the glass panes, which is where the brown comes from.

  • Non-caustic, so the kitchen stays usable
  • Rangehood filter removed and degreased, not wiped

What does a full oven clean cover?

The cavity, the door, the racks and the trays. The stovetop and rangehood are priced separately, though most people book all three together.

Racks and trays come out and go into a dip tank. Scrubbing them in place never gets baked-on grease off the corners.

The door is the part that matters. Most oven doors split apart, and the brown haze people try to wipe off is sitting between the panes.

When is an oven clean worth paying for?

Three moments, and two of them have a deadline attached.

Once a year

Before the weather turns, so the oven starts the roasting season clean rather than finishing it filthy.

Before a vacate

The oven is one of the first things an agent opens at a final inspection, so book it before the inspection day.

Before the holidays

December bookings fill early. An oven that smokes is not what you want on Christmas morning.

What is included in each appliance?

Priced separately so you only buy what you need.

The oven

  • Cavity, roof and base
  • Door split and glass cleaned inside
  • Racks and trays dip tanked
  • Rack rails and side runners
  • Seals wiped, not soaked

The stovetop

  • Burners, caps and crowns
  • Trivets and grates soaked
  • Gas ports cleared
  • Ceramic and induction glass
  • Knobs and surround

The rangehood

  • Filters removed and degreased
  • Rangehood body inside and out
  • Baffles where fitted
  • Light covers and switches
  • Fan housing wiped down

The parts people forget

  • Between the door glass panes
  • The lip under the door
  • Behind the bottom element
  • The rangehood filter itself
  • The gap beside a slide-in oven

A rangehood filter should come out and be degreased properly. Running it through a dishwasher moves grease around and can strip an aluminium mesh filter of its coating.

Does a pyrolytic oven still need this?

Yes, and for the parts you actually look at.

  1. Step 01

    Burns the cavity to ash

The cycle runs at a very high heat and turns residue inside the oven into fine grey ash.

  2. Step 02

    The racks

They have to come out before the cycle runs, because the heat warps and discolours them.

  3. Step 03

    The door glass

The cycle does not reach between the panes, which is the part everyone actually sees.

  4. Step 04

    Seals and exterior

Door seals, the frame and the outside of the unit all stay hand work.

Why do Melbourne ovens build up so much grease?

It comes down to how long the cold lasts and what people cook when it does.

  • A long roasting season. Melbourne runs cold from May to September. That is five months of roasts, bakes and slow cooking in the same cavity
  • Windows stay shut. Cooking smoke and grease have nowhere to go, so more of it settles on the rangehood and the wall behind the cooktop
  • Moving out. The oven is one of the first things an agent opens at a final inspection
  • Apartment kitchens. Recirculating rangehoods rather than ducted ones, which means filters load up far faster

Booking before winter beats booking after it. The grease has not carbonised yet.

Why can you never get the oven door clean?

Four things worth knowing before you scrub it again.

The brown on your oven door is on the inside of the glass

Most oven doors are two or three panes with a gap between them. Vapour carries grease into that cavity and it settles on the inner faces.

No amount of surface cleaning touches it, which is why the door looks hazy however hard you work at it. The door has to come apart to get at it, and that is part of a standard oven clean here.

A self-cleaning oven does not clean what you can see

A pyrolytic cycle burns the cavity to ash at a very high heat. The racks have to come out first, because that heat warps and discolours them.

It also leaves the door glass, the seals and the outside of the unit completely untouched. So the parts you actually look at every day are still hand work, whatever the appliance brochure suggested when you bought it.

Oven cleaning in Melbourne after five months of roasting

Melbourne stays cold from May right through September. That is a long run of roasts and bakes going into the same oven with every window shut.

Grease that sits through a whole winter carbonises and stops lifting easily. Booking before the season rather than after it keeps the job smaller, and a smaller job is a cheaper one.

The rangehood filter is the one agents check

It is $69 on its own and it is easy to forget. A greasy filter is one of the things an agent notices at a final inspection.

Filters come out and get degreased properly rather than run through a dishwasher. That spreads grease through the machine and can strip an aluminium mesh of its coating.

Nobody scrubs an oven door for an hour because they enjoy it. They do it because nobody told them the mark is on the other side of the glass.

What do Melbourne customers ask about oven cleaning?

How much does oven cleaning cost in Melbourne?

A standard oven is $140 including GST and a 900mm oven is $179. The stovetop is $59 and the rangehood $69 on their own, or $240 for all three together. Every oven price covers the racks, the trays and splitting the door.

Do I still need this if I have a pyrolytic oven?

Yes. The self-clean cycle burns the cavity to ash, but the racks have to be taken out first. It never reaches the door glass, the seals or the outside of the unit, which are the parts you look at every day.

How long does it take?

Around two to three hours for all three appliances, longer for a double oven. Racks and trays soak in the dip tank while the cavity is being worked on. We give you a realistic window rather than an optimistic one.

Can I use the oven the same day?

Yes. Our products are non-caustic, so there is no curing time and no burn-off cycle before cooking. Plenty of customers use it that same evening.

Do you clean between the door glass?

Yes, and it is included in the oven price. Most oven doors come apart into two or three panes, and the brown haze people try to wipe off is on the inner faces. No surface cleaning reaches it.

Do you clean rangehood filters?

Yes, they come out and get degreased properly. Running a filter through the dishwasher spreads grease around the machine and can strip the coating off an aluminium mesh. It is $69 for the rangehood on its own.

Does the oven matter when I move out?

Yes. The oven and the rangehood filter are among the first things an agent checks at a final inspection. Book before the inspection rather than after it, or add it to an end of lease clean.

Do you use caustic oven cleaners?

No. We use a non-caustic dip tank for racks and trays and non-caustic products in the cavity. You do not need to leave the house for the afternoon while we work.

What other cleaning do we do in Melbourne?

Most customers book more than one. Same crews, same standards, one invoice.
