Leather couch and lounge cleaning across the Perth metro area, priced per seat, with the method set by the finish on your leather rather than by habit.
On conditioning, the advice genuinely differs. Museum conservators warn against feeding leather, while furniture makers recommend conditioning at their own intervals. We follow your maker's care label.
The advice splits, and we would rather show you the split than pick the side that sells more.
Museum conservators generally advise against feeding leather with oils and dressings. Applied oils can stiffen it over time and leave a sticky surface that attracts dust.
Furniture makers, on the other hand, usually recommend regular cleaning and conditioning, each at its own interval. Their advice is written for a lounge in daily use, which is a different situation from a museum object.
So we follow your manufacturer's care instruction. We will not invent an interval of our own to sell you a bottle.
This decides the method, and it is the first thing we check.
Furniture leather falls into three broad groups. Aniline is dyed through with no pigmented coating, semi-aniline has a light pigmented finish, and pigmented or protected leather has a coating that hides the natural surface.
On a coated leather, oils and waxes cannot reach the hide through the finish, so they sit on top. On an aniline hide, the wrong product leaves a permanent mark.
That is why we test on a hidden area before choosing anything, and why we will not tell you what you have from a photo.
Priced per seat. Dining chairs, ottomans and bed heads are quoted separately.
Step 01
Usually under a cushion or on the underside. If yours came second-hand there may not be one, and we test more carefully then.
Step 02
On the back or under a cushion, never on the seat. That tells us the finish type and whether the leather takes moisture at all.
Step 03
Water-based products, worked gently, no hard rubbing. Over-cleaning wears the protective finish, so we do what the leather needs and no more.
Step 04
Which marks moved, which lightened and which need repair rather than more cleaning. Badly set dye transfer is often a repair job, quoted separately.
Not always. Some furniture sold with leather on the label is mostly synthetic, with a polyurethane surface over a fabric or fibre backing.
A peeling lounge is usually a product problem, not a cleaning problem, and no clean fixes it. Genuine leather does not peel like that.
If yours is peeling, we will tell you rather than take money to clean a surface that is coming away.
Three boundaries, stated before you book.
No one has shown that it does. Conservators warn oils can stiffen leather, makers recommend conditioning, and we do not pretend the question is settled.
It is tanned hide. It does not heal or breathe the way skin does, and we will not sell a product on that idea.
Your warranty depends on following your manufacturer's instructions. We will check what yours says and leave the promise out of it.
Yes. Leather repair is quoted once we have seen the piece, because the damage decides the work.
Scuffs, scratches, cracks, worn patches and dye transfer that cleaning will not shift are repair jobs. We clean first, then tell you what is left and what repairing it costs, on its own line.
Leather car interiors are not something we take on. This service is for furniture.
Three things, and the first one is very Perth.
Wet swimmers and damp towels. Damp clothing is when dye transfer happens most, and the staining can be bad enough to need repair. In a city with this many pools and this much coastline, it is the problem we see most.
Second, sunlight. Direct sun fades, dries and stiffens leather over time, and Perth gets a lot of it, so keep a lounge out of a hot sunny window.
Third, damp. A lounge in a closed-up room through a Perth winter can grow mould on its surface, so let the air move.
Six reasons, one line each.
Per seat, as a fixed price before we start.
A three seater and a five seater are not the same job, so we count seats rather than quoting by the lounge.
Dining chairs, armchairs, ottomans and bed heads are each priced on their own line.
Each shown as its own line, conditioning when your maker advises it and repair once we have seen the damage.
Send your suburb, how many seats, and a photo of the piece and its care label. A fixed price comes back the same day.
Leather usually travels with the rest of the room.
Fabric pieces in the same room, with the care code read first. Upholstery cleaning
The floor the lounge sits on, with drying time quoted for the month. Carpet cleaning
The rug in front of it, with the method set by how it is made. Rug cleaning
The annual reset, where the lounge is one line on a list you edit. Deep cleaning
Done in the same visit as a leather bed head. Mattress cleaning
Furnished rentals where the lounge is on the condition report. End of lease cleaning
The Perth metro area, from Joondalup to Rockingham, and Mandurah. Not on the list? Send your suburb and you will hear back the same day.
Coastal salt air and beach sand impact properties heavily here. Window tracks, exterior glass, and flyscreens need regular washing to stop salt corrosion.
A mix of commercial high rises, character homes, and modern units. Jarrah floor care and delicate limestone work are common across these areas.
Large family properties and industrial facilities. Paved alfresco spaces and bore reticulation mean pressure washing is regularly booked alongside a house clean.
Follow your manufacturer, because makers set different intervals and conservators advise against feeding leather at all. We go by your care label rather than publishing an interval of our own.
No. Leather should never be soaked, and on coated leather forcing moisture at the finish works against the thing protecting it. We use water-based products, worked gently.
Sometimes, often partly, and occasionally not at all. Marks left for a long time can become permanent, and we will tell you which kind yours is before starting.
Second-hand pieces often arrive without one. That is exactly when the hidden area test matters, and we take a gentler approach until we know the finish.
No, and it is usually not a cleaning problem. Peeling generally means a synthetic surface coming away, and genuine leather does not peel like that.
Yes. Leather repair is quoted after we have seen the piece, because a scuff and a crack through the hide are very different jobs. We do furniture only, not car interiors.
Direct sun damages leather anywhere, and Perth has plenty of bright days. Keeping a lounge out of a hot sunny window is the simplest protection.
We stay until it's right
Our cleaners don't leave until you're happy with the work. For end of lease cleans, if you're not satisfied and tell us within 72 hours, we come back and re-clean.
Send your suburb, how many seats, and a photo of the piece and its care label. You will get a per seat price, a straight read on any marks, and a separate price for any repair.
